We are continuing our efforts to locate the leak in the system. The snow has created challenges in locating the leak as there are no visual indications to work off. We have begun the process of isolating different legs of the distribution system as a method of narrowing down the search area for the leak. In the interim we have replenished the water storage tank supply with approximately 15,000 gallons of water delivered today. We will continue to deliver water to supplement the losses from the leak until the situation is resolved.
We will be manually starting and stopping the pressure pumps, running the pumps between 7AM – 9AM, and again from 5PM – 7PM. With the pumps running, we are losing approximately 1500 gallons of water per hour to the leak. With the pumps off, the loss is dramatically less and we are better able to sustain an adequate water level in the storage tank. Homes located below the elevation of the storage tank located on the cul-de-sac of Spruce Circle should mostly have water available when the pumps are not operating, although lower than normal water pressure should be expected. Homes above this elevation are likely to lose water outside of the hours the pumps will be running.
We appreciate your patience and are working diligently to restore full services.
