Just an update from our earlier opening of the valve that supplies Ponderosa.  We opened the valve at 5:50 PM with the expectation of shutting it off at 7:00 PM.  At 7:00 PM we realized that many Patrons still had no or low pressure, while others had medium pressure on the Ponderosa side. We let the pumps run until 7:30 PM and shut them off at that time to prevent damaging the equipment.  We left the valve open at Ponderosa to let water gravity feed and accumulate to hopefully provide some usable water service to those on Ponderosa.  At 9:00 PM we will shut off the valve to the Ponderosa side which will allow us to engage the pumps again and build back pressure on the Spruce Road / Lane side of the district.

Our plan is to open the Ponderosa valve again at 5:00 AM, hopefully giving the Ponderosa side more time to refill the pipes and build pressure for the expected 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM time frame previously discussed.

With the leak on Ponderosa’s side, we noticed that when we opened that valve, there was a serious depreciation in water pressure on the Spruce Road / Lane side while Ponderosa was refilling.  It is likely we’ll see similar results in the morning when we open the Ponderosa valve again, which is why we plan to open the valve earlier, putting more strain on the pumps, but hopefully making everyone’s morning routine as smooth as possible.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue.
